I know it's been awhile since I've added anything here. But, during the last week I heard of a couple of things that made me laugh when I pictured them happening, so I wanted to get them posted before I forgot what they were.
Tee-ball has started up again and Gage is playing on the Bears team. This is his second year to play. Last year he was on the Stallions team. I was at one of the games last week, sitting with Wendy and Zane. I must have been looking elsewhere because I missed one of the Bears running from 3rd base to home plate. Wendy laughed and told me that he slid into the plate and then got up and skipped to the dugout. I've enjoyed picturing that ever since she told me. Bless their little five and six-year old hearts!
Robin shared the next item with me several days after it happened. She had come to my house because Dee was here and Robin had a little gift for her. It was getting close to dark when she got here and it was dark-thirty when she left. As she went through the kitchen, she picked up her sunglasses and put them on top of her head. As she went through the garage, she moved the sunglasses to her eyes. Since the lights were on in the garage, she didn't think about the fact that it was dark outside. But, as soon as she stepped out of the garage, she was taken aback at how dark it was. She had parked out in front and knew there was an oak tree out there that she had to avoid running into on her way to the car. She walked carefully, feeling for the tree...she couldn't see it or the car...until she remembered she had the sunglasses on.
I was laughing as she told me about this during a phone call. I asked her if she had her arms out and she said she did. I remarked that she was probably hoping there were no witnesses to her floundering around out in the yard. She said that she could hear Mary Jane in her garage having a phone conversation and imagined that she had been spotted. I laugh every time I think about it...arms out, stumbling around...perfectly visible to anyone who happened to look...
